The hat itself is exactly what it says, a bucket hat. The crown & top of the hat "seems" thin but that's only because the brim is a bit wider and more stiff than you'd normally expect. It is only 1 layer of the fabric, where the brim seems to be 2 pieces folded so approx 4 layers thick. Most hat's like this (that you can find in stores) are same type of construction with a "thinner" brim so I think that's what misleads to the thought or feeling the hat seems thin / or "cheaper" on top. Not really the case in comparison. The brim of this is wider than your typical "bucket" but not as wide as say the safari or combat style bucket hats. Which I haven't come to the decision yet of being a good thing or a bad thing for me... If you're going for functionality I would say def good if you are one that doesn't want an Indiana Jones or Military type hat, as it provides more coverage, but is as light as a fishing type hat. On the other hand it is only stitched cotton so you can't "stylize" it at all, it sits as it's shown. As for the size, and here's my issue tho I'm realizing it's more of a personal one...this hat runs a bit on the smaller side of "OneSize". My head is right at the split of the M / L split (approx 22 ?/8") and it fits a bit more snug than I'd prefer, being cotton I'm sure a few more times getting wet and drying on my head will solve that, but out of the box (or bag), given the OS size expected it to be bigger. Overall, a good hat at a great price and it suits my needs. We'll see how it holds up, tho I don't expect any problems, seems well enough made.

Very good hat, especially for the price. After washing it loses it's shape, but still fits my need for an inexpensive bucket style hat.

This hat is just right as for as fitting my head. It is nicely made and was very reasonable price wise. I saw many other hats that cost much more but didn't look any better than this one.
