I wanted a lighter color; Bewitched is very dark blue. I washed them as directed in cold water in a Free and Clear type of liquid detergent on the delicate cycle. When the washer stopped, there was a funky smell, very chemical-like. I've had this washer for years and never experienced this. It was the jeans that smell funky. If they still smell funky after the dryer, they will be donated. I can't recommend them.

Thighs are ripped apart after only 2 months, aside from that they were great work pants and fit perfect.

Rise is the distance from the bottom of the crotch inside the pants to the edge of the waist. There is a front rise and a back rise. I'm a guy. I like pants with lots of room for my man parts. It is pretty much impossible to find long rise/high rise/high waisted pants for men. So, I shop women's. I like a 12 inch or greater rise, so I was excited to find these.I was surprised that I was "squished" when I tried them on. My suspicion is that Lee cut them funny.Also, they really aren't straight leg. The legs do balloon a bit.Fabric and colors are good.Hope this helps someone else out.
