Good for 40s-50s F outdoor work. It is indeed water resistant and it's adequate in a light drizzle. It is unfortunately not at all breathable so if you get warm you will sweat and you're in a personal sauna until you take it off. It is on the long side which is great for me with my height but may not be if you're short. I don't use the hood, my full brim hardhat works well as a personal umbrella so it's nice that it is removable. Yes the hood is oversized and has a horizontal drawstring, it is literally made to be worn in an environment where other ppe would include a hardhat so an oversized hood with a horizontal drawstring is a design feature for that use case. Buying it to walk your dog and complaining about the hood is a you problem. I usually start with it on most mornings, take it off and throw it in the truck after sunup. It's held up well so far. I like the stretchy material cuff design. Where I am even when it is not raining, if the day starts out cool everything is soaking wet from dew and it keeps water from running into your sleeve. If it was breathable it would get 5stars.

The elastic cuffs are a bit annoying to me, as they are a bit tight, and the thumb holes are a little too small to be of use (I have medium sized hands) the lining and the construction of the body, sleeves, abd collar are comfortable and functional. The hood is the first example of an oversized, hardhat-compatable hood that actually WORKS like you'd want it to. Its not waterproof, but does pretty well working out in the rain. Its not quite warm enough to use in snow, or sub 30 p weather, but it does just fine between 40 p and 60 p for me. Any warmer and I start to overheat. Costs far less than similar name-brand jackets and works every bit as well. Ergodyne is really earning their part of the market! 5/5: would buy again.

I am a woman, 5’7” and typically an S/M in women’s sizes, and the size small was still pretty big on me. I wish they had an XS or women’s sizes, but I spent a long time looking for women’s jackets and they’re all too expensive so I tried this one. I want one for commuting on my bike. This one came down over my hips, which was great, but it wasn’t warm enough. I ended up getting one that was quilted with fiberfill on the inside. This one is slightly fleecy, like a sweatshirt, with a shell exterior. But I did like how it looked, and it had an inner soft cuff that I liked.
