I ordered a used but good condition and it came in perfect condition with a little bonus army pouch that attaches to your belt. I definitely don't have any complaints about this haversack. GREAT BUY!!!!!

Bag is exactly as advertised, standard army od green color and cotton canvas For the price, you can't beat what you get. Classic medium Alice pack style bag. Main compartment is spacious and the three front pouches work great. If you are used to or want a pack like the gi issue Alice pack, this would be great. If you are used to or want a bag with alot of pouches and compartments to separate your stuff, this probly isn't for you. Can waterproof with regular camping waterproofing material's for a good all around pack.

I used to have this style of pack many years ago. My original one was army surplus and probably from the 80's. I loved that pack and traveled with it extensively, over about ten years. Eventually it was stolen from my tent when I was camping in Mexico back in 2009.I saw this and was hoping for something similar to what I remembered. This is similar in many ways, but it doesn't really compare to the real thing. This would be a good day pack or book bag. Would look cool with patches on it. Currently I use it to store camp stuff, kind of an extra bug out bag.I've not had the chance to wear this over an extended period, so I can't say how comfortable it would be. However, the straps are very thin and not padded, unlike the actual army version. The original one I used to have was super comfortable and I hiked many miles with it over rough terrain.I would not take this particular bag on a trip like that. It would probably lead to shoulder and back pain on the trail at best, and at worst might even fall apart under heavy use.For a kid though, this would be great, affordable option.
