The maroon looks a little purplish but I still wear it. They are not super heavy weight but not too light either. I have long arms and always have trouble finding sleeves that fit. These are not too bad not necessarily as long as needed but slightly longer than usual and comfortable. I have two the royal blue and the maroon.
