Rolling bars on the bottom help ease balls into the basket and hold hold them in. Sliding bars on the top slide open to make dispensing easy, and lock closed to hold balls during transport and storage. Handles lock into an upright position for ball collection, and in a downward position for ball dispensing with a patented locking feature.

My friend had two thinner rods which could be used at the bottom for balls retrieval. I received 4 identical rods so pushing down on the pickleballs to retrieve took more efforts.

These ball hoppers are so good they'd make Chief Jim Hopper proud to share the name. They are durable, easy to use, and they hold a reasonable amount of balls. They're a good shape for picking up balls as well since it's easy to grab a couple at a time if you want. When I was putting them together, I thought they were going to end up being flimsy or come apart since all the bars are held in place by the plastic coming together, but once I put the screws in they were very sturdy. I've been using them for months and they are holding up well. I recommend them. And even better, unlike the all metal versions, these seem less prone to rust, and the nut and bolt connections on the other kind kept causing me to lose the bolt when it fell out. That shouldn't be an issue since this version is screws.

Bars on top and bottom are perfect distance apart to let balls in but not out, and convenient movement of the handles from ground to standing. Seems like mid quality plastic, but very durable. Great Purchase

This wasn't clear to me from the description. It holds closer to 48, maybe 49 or 50, pickleballs. Other than that it's not a bad little caddy. It does pick up pickleballs, so there's that...
