This handled medium rain for about 30 minutes. Then it was wet inside. I even let it dry then sit on the counter for 30 minutes with water puddled on it as a test and it was wet on the inside. I thought I was just sweating. I discovered this after bringing it to the rain forest... thank goodness I had a rubber rain jacket as a backup. It's a great overpriced wind breaker though. Keep looking if to want true water proofness.
