Constructed from 100% polyester materials, the Maxson is designed to allow for free movement while providing protection from the elements. Available in a range of sophisticated colors, the Maxson Softshell Jacket has a waterproof, breathable, three-layer constructed membrane with ergonomic sleeves and articulated elbows. The Maxson features the same comfy material as the men's Stinson Softshell Vest.

I bought this thin jacket to use as a layer on a trip to Scotland and Ireland in the autumn. The thought was it would be just a layering option for whatever weather might bring on my trip. It was that and a little more. It is thin and it is pretty light. What I didn't know was that on days where it was cool, but not cold, it held up pretty well as a top layer. I stayed pretty warm and was really surprised to find the wet from the Scottish showers would bead up and roll off. I am not saying it is a rain jacket by any means. But living in the Pacific Northwest, I know a thing or two about rain. The long spells of drizzle. And this kept me dry in that type of rain, walking to shops or short walks.

Gave one of these to my son as a gift and he has loved it. I have one also and think it's a very nice looking casual jacket. And it's just right for chilly but not freezing weather. Plus it's made by Marmot; I've never had anything of theirs's fail me.

Comfortable, breathable stretch jacket. Waterproof, but I'm betting more like water resistant. I haven't tested it yet. Napoleon pocket, and an inside Napoleon pocket. I had to upsize as the chest/back was a bit snug.
