Solid steel construction with a decent chrome finish, overall a balanced build. The knurling on the bar is medium-to-light (in my experience) but provides sufficient grip for all exercises I've done so far. The end caps are a little rough in some spots, but nothing sharp that would cause a problem. The welds are all solid and cleanly done. The attachment point will accept BIG carabiners, up to 3/8" in my case, maybe as much as 1/2". The bar probably weighs about 4 pounds.

The angle, at least for me, is perfect for keeping the wrists in a neutral position for focused tricep work, something I'd have to fight for when using a tricep rope which would limit the amount of working weight. Not that one is better than the other; I use a tricep rope for all of my overhead extension work and some pushdown work. The bar allows for easy fat grip use, something you can't do with rubber grip bars.

If I had to find one thing to change on the bar it would be for the knurling to go just a bit higher on the bar towards the attachment point, maybe an extra 3/4". If I really choke up on the bar with a close grip my first finger is on the smooth chrome. That said, I've never seen any other V-pressdown bar that has knurling all the way up.

Arrived quickly, packed securely, nice and heavy construction, high quality item, textured handle area for good grip, the end pieces are good for resting the edge off your hands. I was using a rope for triceps but I like this better.

My gym stopped carrying these for some stupid reason, so I bought my own to bring to the gym. It's basically the same thing that gyms carry, so it's durable and sturdy.
