I cut off one off below the seam to use as a pan in my Rothco SS canteen cup when dry baking and kept the other to use as a canteen with an extra lid from the one I sacrificed.

Used it as a radiator catch basin for my Hot Rod. Has the appearance of old style Army canteen I wanted at a cheap price.

I still have these today I use them when camping and hiking. I did use a cleaning method I found online involving lemon juice and backing soda and boiling them. These things hold up.

Ok, I bought this exact canteen from an army surplus for about the same price, if not, cheaper. It's a really good canteen for WATER if you're only looking to spend a couple bucks. I made the idiotic mistake of putting hot tea inside and not only did it burn my hand every time I picked it up, it also rusted the inside making it uncleanable, I tried several times with different methods. I never had a problem with the canteen, I personally would buy this again, and plan on it.
