The Chrisofix® MP Joint Orthosis is ideal for providing initial treatment and first aid to injured fingers. It provides isolated fixation (without involvement of the wrist) of the metacarpophalangeal (MP) joints of fingers II-IV with fixation of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) and distal interphalangeal (DIP) joints of these fingers. This isolation is especially helpful in case of injuries, distorsions, inflammation (felons), degenerative diseases, and for additional support following surgery. Orthosis fits either the left or right hand.
The "functional" design of the Chrisofix® MP Joint Orthosis helps minimize the risk of developing limited range of motion in the fingers. The Premium version includes a Corrugatech aluminum core encased in cotton-laminated foam for a customized fit. The outer layer of velour-coated polyethylene foam, combined with textile straps, ensures that the splint remains both comfortable and stable throughout daily activities.
For a precise fit, use the unaffected hand for rough adjustments. Fine adjustments can be performed on the affected hand without removing the orthosis to accommodate for changes in swelling. The high-quality material conforms around the area for a secure, yet comfortable fit that does not irritate or apply pressure to the injured area. Measure the width of the palm for appropriate sizing.
