For grease/oil in carpet, wool or synthetic, Simple Green is just stunning, far better than the many any other cleaners I have tried! It may not be best for all stains, but for black, oily stains, I use nothing else. It's great also on places that accumulate hand-oils, like light switches and bannisters.It also smells a bit like root beer, which pleases me more than I can explain.

The smell is still pretty strong even after diluting it as instructed. I won't use use because it doesn't stated it kills germs.

And, I used in the washer when cleaning his greasy clothes, we moved into an old house where the people were sick all of the time. My family started getting sick, we couldn't afford expensive cleaners for cleaning the old paneled walls and carpets. I was mopping w/diluted Simple Green, and on a whim added a bit more SG soaped up the mop and started scrubbing the walls. All I can say is the house changed, the distinct SG mellowed after a few weeks, and no more sickness. Their products are excellent and non-corrosive.
