1. In my set (mfg defect) you could not attach any sockets to the ratchet. The detent ball would not move, even with a pretty good squeeze with a pair of pliers. 2. The case will not hold the sockets in place, if you carry it in a truck you will have a pile of sockets every time you open it. I would lay a piece of foam in to fix this. 3. Item 2 is exacerbated by the fact that both the size on the socket and the size in the case are hard to read ( I am old ). The sockets are lightly etched chrome on chrome, the case is clearly marked but black on black. 4. The 34;deep sockets34; are not. The hex recess only goes a short way in. Some might prefer this in some situations however, but it is not standard design. If you do not store these in the case and use a socket tray (such has Hanson) the sockets may not fit, the larger sizes have very small through holes. 5. Others mention the (common size) 13 is missing, mine included that in both shallow and deep. But the sizes do not all match the markings on the case. I received two 10 deep for instance instead of a 10 and a 11 which is delightful as I always lose the 10 and have never seen a 11 in 20 years. Overall not a bad set, maybe a bit better than a Harbor set, maybe equal to a craftsman set but the ratchet felt nicer. Very nice in fact. I returned it because of the fatal flaw with the ratchet, otherwise I think I would have kept it and given 4 stars.

Like most Gearwrench products, this is remarkably nice. I've been a fan of Gearwrench for quite some time - with the decline of Sears Gearwrench has more or less become my go-to brand in lieu of Craftsman. I'm no pro, but I'm a pretty heavy DIYer - always got something coming apart or going back together - and even this little set keeps up. I bought it primarily to replace some lost 1/434; deep sockets, but as it turns out the ratchet is very nice and it's the one I find myself using most frequently. For the price, I couldn't be happier.

Fantastic 1/434; drive ratchet and socket set. Every GearWrench product I have owned has been good quality but the superb functionality of their tools is where they shine. The ratchet has good, narrow profile that allows for good access to awkwardly placed fasteners. The ratchet mechanism needs very little movement to ratchet and took very little resistance from the fastener to engage the ratcheting action. I didn't really need the deep well sockets and would've liked a smaller kit but the smaller ones I saw did not have all the socket sizes I required.

A handy tool that seems to be well made. The 1/434; drive size has become more useful than other drive sizes. The kit was well supplied and works well. The sockets each have their own place. The sockets are marked well and the case is marked with the socket size but with black on black numbers. The case and the latches are hinged in stead of folded plastic and should be more durable. The case is sized a bit big and when it is carried some of the sockets come out of their location in the case. Overall I am very pleased.
