Mission: The War Legacies Project focuses on the long-term impacts of war to develop a fuller understanding of the costs of war, increase public understanding of these costs, foster public dialogue about the impacts of war and conduct programs that help mitigate the impacts of war at home and abroad. Currently our work is primarily focused on the long-term health and environmental impacts of the use of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War in Laos and Vietnam. We also work to address the on-going impacts of un-exploded ordinance.
Target demographics: provide comprehensive support to families impacted by war.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 20 families in Quang Nam, Vietnam built new homes, raise cows ore recieve medical care. 7 children in Nam Dong, Vietnam attended early intervention programs, 75 people with disabilitie in Laos recieve medical care, rehabilitation services or vocational training.
Geographic areas served: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia
Programs: income generation; early intervention for children with disabilities, scholarships, rehabilitation services, wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment, and environmental remediation in defoliated areas.
