Rugged Ridge 16595.13 Boulder Aluminum Differential Cover, Dana 30, Black, Universal

First off it looks awesome, second it has a oil fill and a drain plug and finally it has a dipstick for checking the oil level. Now thats cool. Very sturdy seems to be well made. I looked at the rugged ridge diff cover for the rear AMC model 20 and it is terrible compared to the dana 30. I was hoping they made one for the rear that matched the front but NOPE.

Solid and fits perfectly

Build quality seems good. Certainly thicker than the stock steel one and this has the benefit of a drain a dipstick. Note, you will use more oil than the manual says since this cover is a bit deeper than stock. Mine took maybe 60 oz. I used the Lube Locker gasket tightened to just over finger tight, then 25 ft-lbs finally 30 ft-lbs. I used a cross-over pattern for this. No leaking.A lot of other covers seem to have complaints about hardware quality. These bolts are marked as grade 5 torqued down just fine. Pics are the diff all cleaned up ready and then with the cover in place.

Great upgrade so you don't have to remove the cover to change the fluid. The only thing difficult is reading the oil on the dipstick. It blends with the hash marks to easily. Would have been nice to have a contrasting color. Recommend using lubelocker gasket with cover.

Nice covers junk hardware the bolts are pot metal they will break on you even at 30 pounds the magnetic plug is a joke so after you replace the hardware with good stuff you have a pretty cover .Oh by the way the drain plug is 1/2 20 when replacing it with one that really is magnetic
