MegaPro 13-in-1 Automotive Ratcheting Driver - Red- 1" Bits, 211R1C36RD-10

Purchased one of these as well as the version they make for LTT, comparing side by side I saw no reason to spend almost double on the LTT version as this one feels just as good in nearly every way. I liked it so much I actually got one for my stepfather and am considering getting one for my grandfather as well. If Mega reads this which is extremely unlikely, the only thing that could make it better would be the knurling on the shaft like the LTT version has.

I found one review that mentioned that the ratcheting control is backwards. No one seems to care, but It drives me nuts.. left should be loosen and right should be tighten. It's the opposite. I never get it right because it makes no sense. This is a decent screwdriver that got a lot of hype from YouTube. It's fine, has a nice feel, but it's rather bulky and I find the ratchet direction thing super annoying. If you want to spend 30 or 70 or whatever I guess that's up to you. I think it's just ok.

I reach for this every time I need a screwdriver - despite having many other options, the ratcheting action and the multiple onboard bits make it perfect for every screwdriving application.

As good as the LTT screwdriver and half the price. Couldn’t be happier. Don’t like the price jump from $35 to $45, probably won’t be purchasing anymore since the price jump from $35 to $45, but for $35 it’s an absolute steal.

Bought this based on the review by Project Farm, which does the most complete, precise, scientifically accurate reviews on YouTube. The Megapro came in third place out of fourteen tested, just behind PB Swiss and LTT, and at a much better price. Extremely smooth ratcheting mechanism with very little back drag, and a strong lock up. You can just feel the quality in this thing. It also comes with an excellent assortment of bits conveniently stored in the handle. The bit carousel is held very securely in the handle but pulls out easily and rotates smoothly. I already own several ratchets, including a ratcheting screwdriver and a couple of t-handle ratchets, and every 1/4” hex bit you can think of, but I wanted a convenient, all-in-one grab and go option, and the Megapro checks the most boxes out of all those I was considering. I prefer magnetic bits to ball detent, and the bit storage system as well as the bit selection is superior to every other comparable driver. I would have liked a few hex (Allen) bits as part of the selection, but the fact that they use standard 1” bits means you can mix and match with other bits that you own and are more likely to need. The only thing that would have made it perfect would be if they used double sided bits like the Wiha 26-in-1 Ultra Driver, which I also own. I suppose if Wiha made a ratcheting 26-in-1, I would have bought that for the sake of convenience and more “on board” options, but in my opinion the Megapro is currently the best most complete package available. Also, there is no indicator on the handle to tell you if you are set on clockwise, counterclockwise, or lock. Not a big deal at all, but it would be nice to know when you grab the tool without having to twist it to find out. So I made my own indicator by poking a small hole in the plastic with an awl.

I abused the heck out of this things. I once found myself without a drill and used this to force some self tapping screws into a wood board. Killed my hands but the screwdriver was fine. I also once hammered in some nails with it. I probably shouldn’t be allowed to own tools.
