Mission: Our primary mission is to engage youth in conservation and stewardship.

Programs: 2017 service work by san juan islands youth conservation corps crew members on public lands included over 3000 hours doing trail construction, maintenance and restoration; invasive plant species removal; native plant enhancement; gps surveys; native seed nusery maintenance; fence building; and beach cleanup. Additionally, on san juan island, the coast salish stewardship conservation corps crew from four tribal nations did similiar work with over 1000 hours of service. The san juan islands ycc summer crew included 51 middle scholl students and the coast salish ysc summer crew included 5 middle school students. The annual climate science lecture was held on august 3,2017 at brickworks in friday harbor, wa. The speaker was dr jan newton, co- director, washington ocean acidification center, university of washington. Over eighty-five people attended the lecture.
