Causes: Health, Lung Diseases, Patient & Family Support

Mission: To improve the lives of lung transplant patients and families

Results: We are a grassroots, volunteer-driven organization that serves the entire lung transplant community: recipients, caregivers, families and the medical community. We are not part of any agency or hospital. We are a national, private, independent nonprofit.

Target demographics: the entire lung transplant community: recipients, caregivers, families and the medical community.

Geographic areas served: our scope is nationwide in the U. S and we provide mentorship services in several countries.

Programs: The lung transplant foundation works tirelessly to advocate for constructive public policies that support lung transplant patients and their families. We strive to bring the issues of post-transplant rejection to the forefront through networking and activism with government agencies, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, and the medical community on behalf of the lung transplant population. research into lung transplant rejection lacks significant financial support from the government and pharmaceutical companies. Our goal is to develop, initiate, and support research efforts on issues surrounding lung transplantation, to find treatments, and ultimately, a solution, for chronic rejection.

The Joseph J. Carter Mentorship Program is a service available to lung transplant patients and caregivers nationwide, developed by lung transplant patients and caregivers. A well-informed lung transplant patient and caregiver contributes to overall recovery success.
