Bought this to replace pitman and idler arm on my 01' 2500hd with 180k. Worked fine in the idler arm as you pull the bracket and the arm off the truck. The pitman arm I cut off. You could get the appropriate size bolt and install it in the puller backwards to clear the cross member(then loosen it rather than tighten) for the pitman.

Well made tool, I used it to remove the pitman arm on a 1973 ford bronco power steering box. The older fords have large diameter pitman arms and the average pitman pullers at the auto parts stores are to small.

Tool description said it was 34;made in USA34;. Opened the box to be disappointed that the tool was made in Taiwan. If I knew that the tool was made in a different country I wouldn't habe bot it, disappointed about that.

This tool successfully removed the pitman arm from my 2006 F350 4x4 6.0 Powerstroke. I have the 834; Procomp lift, which uses a dropped pitman arm. I had to remove my old steering gear box with the pitman attached. For my specific situation, this tool did not slide between the two pieces so I had to carefully clearance the space between the gear box and the pitman arm with a grinder. I only removed about 1/1634; of material. After that I greased the threades of this tool and it slipped in place. I did not use an impact gun, as I read some buyers 34;broke34; the tool. Less than a minute later I had successfully popped the pitman arm loose and prepped it to be installed on the new gear box. This tool save me a ton of time and money. If you are a DIY Powerstroke Diesel Guy (or Gal) I highly recommend adding this tool to your collection!
