Simply awesome. I'm going to have to get another one, as I gave this one to my mechanic/friend who was helping me with my engine build.

If you are working on a Honda/Acura K-series, in my case a K20A2 engine, the installation portion of this tool is pretty much useless because the spring-loaded keeper 'nipple' is too large to properly push the keepers onto the valve stem. This 'nipple', lacking a better term for it at the moment, needs to simply be smaller so it can wedge between and push down instead of causing them to jam themselves onto the tip/top of the valve stem. I would bet that grinding this nipple to be smaller would work. The removal function of the tool works flawlessly though! Quality is good overall, it's a solid tool, though if your valve stems and/or keepers are on the smaller side (not a V8 lets say) then you may want to look for another model with a smaller install attachment.

Fantastic tool! Enabled replacement of valve seals in an old Army truck (M715) without pulling the head and with little angst except for the cylinder closest to the firewall, which was not the fault of the tool. Couple of whacks and the keepers are out. Couple more whacks, and all back together. Worked great using nylon rope as filler in the cylinder to keep the valves tightly closed.

Using this tool worked perfect removing the valve springs. Had trouble using it to put all back together. First one worked great, 2nd was troublesome, actually almost lost the keepers and didnt want to chance it again so i just used some channel lock pliers to put back together.

It removes the valve spring keepers teally well. I doesn’t work so well at intalling the keepers. Rather than risking bending a valve by using hammer force like is suggested, I chose to install my keepers vie another method.

For 1MZ FE engine - The installer work well but the remover will not fit the valve hole. Don't try it will damage the aluminium head where the valve sims go up and down. I make my own remover tool to do the job.

Sbc beware, great tool for removing keepers on my small block chevy but if you have valves with the little O ring that fits on the second grove on the valve this tool will not install the keepers because you have to set the retainer on the spring then install the O ring and you can not install the keepers because the spring is not compressed enough. also trying to install without the O rings it worked ok but setting with a hammer tended to mushroom the tops of the valves, maybe the other tool with the larger setting pin would not do that, Good luck
