Mission: Greentrike's mission is: "Honor Children and Youth. Champion Play."

Originally chartered in 1985 as the Children's Museum of Tacoma, the organization was started by a committed group of parents, educators, and community leaders who saw a void of meaningful activities for young families in our community. Over the years, Greentrike has grown into an education, child, and youth advocacy organization whose efforts include vibrant outreach programming (Play to Learn Pierce County, Greentrike Cares), robust after-school learning opportunities (Greentrike OSTI), multiple preschool locations (Preschool Powered by Play), and two children's museums (Children's Museum of Tacoma and Children's Museum at Joint Base Lewis-McChord).

Greentrike serves over 170,000 children, youth, and adults annually, while inviting our communities to embrace the power of play and value the contributions of children and youth.

Greentrike is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1987, and donations are tax-deductible.
