I have to limit my caffeine intake because it causes acid reflux and heart palpitations. This is a great alternative that is sort of similar in taste to cocoa. I like this brand for Carob powder and other items that they sell. I have used carob powder with organic coconut milk (the thinner one, not one in can as that is too rich for my liking) and it tastes good, hot. I also have made brownies and other baked goods where the recipe calls for cocoa and used this as a substitute. Not exactly like Cocoa, but kind of similar. I sometimes do half cocoa powder and half Carob Powder or whatever combo of both that I feel like doing at the time. Cocoa is definitely better taste in brownies (for me) but this is really not bad at all, and a combo of both might be a good alternative for some people who might want to try that.

Taste is superb!!! This Carob has its own unique delicious flavor. I don’t even miss chocolate or cocoa. Now some of my friends and family started buying it!!! Only question is - why isn’t it more popular?

I bought this to try instead of hot chocolate and was surprised at how delicious it was. I followed my usual hot chocolate recipe, but used 1/3 less maple syrup since other reviewers said the carob powder was slightly sweet tasting. Without any caffeine, I'll be able to enjoy a yummy warm beverage every evening for the rest of this winter. Maybe I'll try making brownies too.

My mom gave carob to us as kids. We always had plain vanilla ice cream which I didn't like. Sprinkle a big spoonful of this on it and I loved it! 30 years later i still use it as an ice cream topping!
