These are surprisingly sturdy bags, but be very patient and go slow when trimming the end (if necessary) to fit your tip(s). You can’t add, only subtract so if you cut even a slight bit too much you will render the bag useless for that sized tip. I got mine for making churros mostly, so I needed it to fit a bigger tip. I slowly cut until I got it right, about 1/8 inch each time. The last cut or two were very slight. Smaller tips require even less trimming. These are much sturdier than disposables so the burst worry is much less. Still though, really thick doughs you should still use some caution. I prefer these over the cotton/felt type as these have a more accurate and tactile feel. Like a disposable but much more rugged. Properly cared for one of these should last for a few dozen jobs or more, and take up far less storage space. I just rinse mine in hot water when I’m done, I don’t see a need for using soap or chemicals on it that may leave unwanted residue.

I purchased this primarily to fill mini cupcake pans with batter. The opening was the perfect size (I did not add a tip, nor cut the bag). Clean up is easy, even when I leave the batter in the bag for a while before washing. A little soaking time and it is good as new. The 16 inch size holds all my batter (enough for 48 mini cupcakes) which works great for me.
