Mission: To enable Veterans and their families to achieve stable housing, financial security, and a renewed sense of community

Results: Since our inception in 2005, the VIC has helped over 12,000 families, both Veteran and non-Veteran, with essential needs and services. Although our mission is to support literally and at-risk homeless Veteran families we believe in being a resource for all Veteran families throughout New Mexico and helping them obtain resources and support from any agency, program or organization that is available to honor their service and sacrifice for our great nation. Target demographics: All Veterans and their families

Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 700 Veterans & their families, and over 650 non-Veteran families through our programs and services

Geographic areas served: the great state of New Mexico

Programs: Emergency, Transitional and Rapid Re-housing options helping at-risk and literally homeless Veterans and their families with safe and stable housing options based on their unique needs; a Donations Program that helps turn a "house" into a "home" by fully furnishing our Veterans home when they move into permanent housing, and helping community Veteran families in need of the same services (when stock is available) with our donations; a free Community Support Shuttle connecting over 1300 riders each month all Albuquerque community members in the downtown corridor with essential social services and income supports; a Peer Support Program that helps provide therapeutic outings to help Veterans & their families relax and enjoy camaraderie with other Veteran families and gives every Veteran in our programs a "battle buddy" they can call with stressors and concerns anytime; a Jail Diversion program that assists previously incarcerated Veterans with a second chance at getting back to positive life of self-sufficiency. All Veterans and families served receive a case manager and support team to address all their unique needs and ensure that each Veteran is able to become self-sufficient and independent; a food pantry that is an authorized community food distribution site for the Roadrunner Food Bank ensuring that both Veteran and non-Veteran families receive essential food sources.
