Causes: Farmland Preservation, Food

Mission: To preserve kansas' ranching heritage and open spaces for future generations through the conservation of working landscapes.

Programs: Conducted annual on-site monitoring of seventeen ranchland trust of kansas conservation easements. Visited with over 20 individuals who are considering granting a conservation easement on their property and conducted 8 on site visits with landowners who are considering granting a conservation easement on their property. We did not close on any easements during 2017 but we currently have 6 pending easements.

published four print newsletters that were mailed to over 900 individuals. Published nine electronic newsletters that were emailed to over 450 individuals.

presented information about rtk and conservation easements at kla's young stockman academy class, kla's leadership conference attendees and at four agricultural producer or civic club meetings. Presented information about prairie grasses and burning called "power of the prairie" to grade school children at geary county ag day. Hosted a photography contest that featured agricultural landscapes and participated in the trade show at the 2017 kansas livestock association convention. We also hosted a next generation program for young conservation supporters and attended women managing the farm conference.
