i have brought a tiger rice cooker. first of all, i thought the product is too pricey and over rated. i thought that i was wrong on the rice cooker. after i used it and felt in love. i will say this is a really quality product.

We own two rice cookers. We love it! It is easy to use and clean. Will purchase again in the future.

All my life my parents owned one, I also purchased one when I got married. Lasted many many years and worked great. Had to purchase another one when I moved and it still works amazing. Cooks rice in such a short amount of time. Only complaint would be when the rice is kept warm overnight, it starts to turn yellow and get a funky smell. Otherwise if you unplug it and leave the rice in there, it stays good for a few days!

I bought my last stainless large size Tiger cooker in 2011 . I then gave my Tiger cooker which was smaller, and bought in the early 80's to my son. Both rice cookers are still working great. I will caution you to never slam the lid as this will ruin the seal on your cooker. I put in 3 cups of long grain rice and fill the cooker up to the 4 cup water mark and this equals perfection every time . I long ago lost any directions to them. Tell people to NEVER add water directly into the rice cooker after the rice has been fully cooked . It's not made for that. The rice cooker is great for keeping any kind of noodle or rice in it . I put in refried rice and have it for a couple of days without having to reheat. It's a fabulous addition to a gourmet or a single persons kitchen. It's an appliance I would certainly recommend but I will caution you that not all rice cookers are created equally. I found this one by going to Asian markets and they told me this was the only one they used. They were right!

I loved it, easy to cook rice!

When I was shopping for a rice cooker, I wanted to make sure that it was small and of good quality. Tiger brand is said to be one of the best. However, it should be one made in Japan, which this one is. Some are made in China so make sure to do your research.Model JNP-0550 is a 3 cup (uncooked) rice cooker and is perfect for 1-2 people. Now when companies say 3 cup, 5 cup, 8 cup or any other size, they are referrring to the cup size that comes with the cooker. That cup is equivelant to 3/4 cup of standard measure, so you do have to make sure you use the included cup otherwise you will not get the results you want.As well as the cup, it also comes with dew cup, a rice spatula and a holder for the spatula that attaches to the side of the cooker. I love that the cord retracts and stores within itself at the bottom (see pic). The inner lid comes apart for cleaning (I took a pic of it still attached, but forgot to take one of it removed).It took just 15 minutes or so for the rice to cook and then I let it rest for another 5-7 minutes to complete the steaming process and then I stirred it (a larger rice cooker would take longer to cook). The rice was not at all wet but nice and tender the way rice should be. To test the warming feature, I cooked the rice in the morning and let it stay on warm all day until we were ready to eat it in the evening. It was just as good as if we had eaten it right when it was done.All in all, this is probably the best rice cooker I have ever had, and I probably shouldn't ever have to buy another one as it will hopefully last a very long time. I would recommend the Tiger brand (made in Japan) cooker to anyone who is looking to get one. You will pay more, but I feel it will be worth it for the quality you get.

I owned this rice cooker since i was 6 and im 33 now. its always worked being used at least 4-6 times a week in those years. for all the people giving this 3 stars or below, generally its user error.

The rice keeps burning even though it's on warm. I had product similar to this but this particular one isn't working right. Can i get a refund? Or exchanged for a better one?

Amazing

Easy to use and effective, but during and after use, it makes a mess on the cover where steam is released.

This rice cooker is perfect for me right now. I tried different brand before but after a while the rice doesn't taste good or not cook right.

Bought for my mom for mothers day and she loves it. We eat rice with most meals and rice is cooked well and stays fresh longer than any cooker we have bought.
