Causes: Health, International, International Relief

Mission: To bring access to lifesaving healthcare and preventative education to the poorest remote places where there arent any doctors or medicines, and through tias self-sustaining program, teach them to fish, tia trains and equips area health workers to accomplish permanent sustainable solution in these communities.

Programs: Tia trained and equipped 126 new community health workers promotoras this year, bringing our total to 553 community health workers who are serving over 172,000 rural mexicans in the states of jalisco, michoacan, zacatecas and colima with healthcare and education. Good health, hygiene and sanitation habit changes continue to be observed, which has translated into very few cases of infectious illness or diseases affecting the communities. Villagers continue to receive frequent blood pressure checks and diabetes glucose monitoring which is recorded by our health workers and used by the patients doctors to better treat chronic diseases. Tia continues to gather field data which it hopes to share with other institutions, organizations, etc. , to improve quality of life in other parts of rural mexico. Our promotoras offer education and preventative care, as well as discussion about nutrition and hygiene.
