Causes: Counseling, Mental Health, Sexual Assault Services
Mission: To end sexual violence and provide healing for children, adults and families affected by sexual assault through counseling, education and advocacy.
Programs: The clinical program - 665 clients were served through 10,663 clinical sessions and 359 advocacy sessions. Advocacy staff and hospital accompaniment volunteers responded to 41 hospital accompaniment visits at metro general hospital to provide support, advocacy and crisis intervention to recent rape/sexual assault victims. S. A. C. 's crisis line responded to 2,510 calls. Of the 665 clients served, 82% of them achieved personal milestones of reducing trauma symptoms and increasing positive coping skills.
the education program - 194,572 students across the state participated in safe@last, s. A. C. 's primary prevention program for kindergarten through 6th grade. Metro nashville students met intended milestones with 90% identifying 3 or more safe adults, 81% differentiated between safe and unsafe situations, 82% demonstrated good problem-solving abilities, 76% demonstrated the ability to make a clear disclosure and 85% demonstrated they understood how and when to be assertive. S. A. C. Staff facilitated stewards of children trainings for 307 adults. Stewards of children is a primary prevention program that teaches adults how to protect children from sexual abuse.
