When I refused to pay the post office $50 for a new lock (old one destroyed by thieves) I needed a quick and easy solution. The lock fit into my neighborhood cluster box easily but none of the latches were long enough to securely close the box. We got lucky that our mailman pulled up as we were installing this and had extra latches; he said they don't make them for our box anymore so he collects old ones he finds. While this lock is very inexpensive, I recommend measuring the latch size you need before purchasing!

simple to use. I had to twist one of the 5 options a bit to make it work for a really old mailbox but it worked. It was hard to bend the metal so it seems the metal is sturdy

This is the second one I've purchased. The first one was a different brand and became difficult to use after only a month in the Seattle rain. I've been using this one for a couple months now, and it looks and functions like new. Glad I spent a little extra to get this one. Would do it again (though I won't need to!).
