My son loved to do this creation! Crystals grew on all the surfaces. After creating the habitat he loved that it was a small night light.

We followed directions on this product to the T. Unfortunately, it didn't come out as vibrant as the picture. Our kid loved pouring in the coloring and waiting for the crystals to "grow". Once finished, the dinosaur looked pretty cool. You can see the different effects of the crystals, especially under the light of the lid. The coloring was not as good as I'd like it to be. The paint is very light-colored. You would have to paint and dry a couple of times before you can really get it the color you'd want. And each time you're done painting and want to close the paint containers, it is A HUGE PAIN. The tops don't easily snap into place like most bottles. You have to really push down and hold the bottom part so as to not tip over the paint while you're trying to close it. The brushes are good - the bristles aren't thick and cheap. It easily paints and the paint comes off of it well in the water. The glitter is nice, too. The "grass" looks weird. I was hoping it would go well with the dinosaur but it just looked like paper sitting at the bottom of the terrarium.

I'm excited to share this craft kit with my son - it has painting and crystal growing and can all be saved in the little display case. All parts seem well made and it is a good size product. There are 3 bags of crystals included so I'm excited to see what grows!
