8" 70V Ceiling Speaker / White Grill / Tile Bridge & Backbox Bundle
Our 8" ceiling speaker has been a favorite for many years. It features a 12 ounce ceramic magnet, 1" aluminum voice coil, and a whizzer cone for enhanced high frequency response. All this adds up to great sound quality between 45 and 15,000 Hz, ideal for paging, announcements, background music and more. The built-in 70V transformer can be tapped at 0.63, 1.25, 2.5, 5, or 10 watts, according to your needs.
For installation in typical suspended ceilings, a tile bridge is recommended, so this bundle includes it. UL listed and measuring 14" x 23-3/4", this bridge is designed to keep the weight of the speaker off your ceiling tile, and distributes it to the suspension system.
Finally, to protect your speaker, improve sound quality, and comply with building codes and ordinances, many jobs call for a protective enclosure behind the speaker. This bundle includes a back box that is UL listed and NFPA certified for use in ceiling cavity air return (plenum) spaces. This enclosure requires no tools or hardware for installation, simply place it on the tile bridge and twist, and it locks into place. Three 1/2" knockouts are available to facilitate wiring.
Audio distribution systems, especially those commonly used in department stores, warehouses, restaurants, etc., require that many loudspeakers be driven from a single audio amplifier over long runs of speaker wire. The "constant voltage" or "high impedance distribution" audio systems can be complex to understand at first, however, provides many advantages.
