Actually disolves in food unlike Sucanat or Rapadura. Panela is very much my favorite sugar choice. Makes my cookies soft and delicious

Panela is a natural organic dehydrated cane juice sugar. Did you know that this unrefined and unprocessed sugar retains its natural nutrients? For example, compared to processed sugars like turbinado and brown sugar, Panela has 1,053% more phosphorus and 16,567% more zinc! We sometimes use Panela in place of honey in recipes because we're finding that a low fructose diet (also called a low FODMAP diet) is beneficial for those of us with sensitive digestive systems. It is the best tasting natural cane sugar!
