Mission: To provide statewide services for victims of and witnesses to child abuse and other crimes with a sensitive, compassionate response through skilled interviewing, referral to helping agencies, community outreach, and professional education.

Programs: The following activities were conducted by the forensic interviewers during the fiscal year 2017-2018.Interviewers conducted 300 child victim interviews for different law enforcement agencies and the department of human services. They also participated in case staffings, and they organized and attended state peer review. The interviewers also conducted trainings and interpreted for other agencies. OIS interviewer provided supervision to other interviewers and also provided case consultations and referrals. They were also involved in court several times. 10 volunteers and one intern provided assistance to OIS. 200 interviews were conducted in the forensic interviewing mobile unit facility which traveled 18,500 miles. The mobile unit was also toured numerous times.
