I have used several different types, and the way the blade is designed in this one works the best. You have to physically unscrew a lock and reposition the blade for cuts around or across. The other ones I have used is spring loaded, and can cause issues. VERY simple to use. Solid, and works great

Easy to use once use too

I am using on prysmian, corning, and commscope, for 24ct and 48ct for midspans.I use it for slitting, but for ringing I use the jonard or Miller ring cutting tool.Intial setting and adjustment had to be made for depth, but it has held true to adjustment for months.I don't have it set deep enough to cut through the armor sheathing, but I slit the outer jacket,which allows me to either remove it,or leave it, (to just run my strings through without them having to cut the jacket)either way it prevents my rip-strings from breaking every five seconds when the fiber is cold lol.
