the tool itself is great, was able to swap a set of springs and seals in an hour and change. However even with using plenty of lube the nut stripped the threads off the all thread halfway though the job. Luckily I was able to use a a different washer and a stock rocker bolt and finish the job.

Works like it should if you keep it greased. I greased it before each spring. Also I was just using it to remove stock springs. Not sure how well it would stand up to double springs

The stud snapped off flush with my cylinder head. A stronger stud is needed. I am a GM technician this kind of performance from a specialized tool is unsatisfactory.

Great tool for the valve spring compression on any L83. All you need to do is center the valve stem so that the valve locks sit perfect. No need for any expensive tools.

Used it a handful of times so far on 6.0's. It has held up well and gives you plenty of room to get the keepers in/out.

I used this to swap over stock beehive springs for a set of BTR 660 dual springs, on a LS3. I had no issues using a little arp ultra torque on the threads and under the washer. This tool worked great.

Did a really good job with valve spring replacement. I used it on my stock LQ4 with 317 heads. Had zero issues of it stripping out as some people complained about. Just make sure you thread it in your head at least and inch. I also used hand tools, I didnt use impact. Make sure you lube the threads good and youll be set. Probably would have been faster to use one that does 2 springs at once but. I chose this and it worked great.

Changing springs on an LT Gen 3 engine that on a engine stand. I have the 2 valve, T bar style as well as the screw down type. By far, this is the most efficient. I thought the T bar type would be a better fit but you, at least the way I done it, you only do 1 valve at a time anyways. And the best part is, it is the cheapest and American made! Now if you have the head offf, then use a C clamp spring compressor. But on the engine, this is the best option.

Put some oil on those threads

Got the job done. Make sure to use assembly lube each spring and NO power tool! Make sure your spring is centered to get the pins in, because the spring will not move to adjust. I used this tool to take the spring off and harbor freight tool to put the spring back in.

Neat design but the hardware is junk. Gets metal shavings all in your heads. Mine lasted through 1 1/2 heads with .550 lift springs. Didn't even last long enough to do a complete valve springs job.

This tool works perfectly and is very easy to use. The slight bend in the tool gives it a correct angle to the head surface. Just make sure to use a little oil on the threads and don't use a power tool when running the nut down. It helps to use a ratchet on the nut so you can feel the resistance so you don't over stress the threads on the bolt. I did all 8 cylinders and the all thread still looks new.

When I read the reviews for other people saying that the threaded shaft broke at the second pair of springs they compressed I was willing to buy another fastener to get the job done. But I've taken apart and put together 3 pair of heads so far and the tool is totally worth the money.I just keep the threaded shaft oiled the whole process while removing/installing the springs and I've used the brass nut that comes with it as the main one.

While this will not remove 2 spring sets at once, this product for the money is thick and well made, easy to use. You could run it over with a semi and it wouldn't dent anything but the road! Plus if you lose the nuts or washers it's easy to find replacements at a hardware store and cheap

The threaded allen head bolt stripped out after te first four were done. Had to go to fastenal to get a better one and nut. So basically all you get that works is the clamping part...

Like some others say the threaded rod will only last a few sets of springs. I'm currently trying to find some M8-1.25-70mm set screws or bolts with threads the full length. Once I do this kit will last me a lifetime. Simple to use, low cost. I'd recommend it to anyone.
