There is a lot to like here. A small clamp holds on to your rope and keeps the protector from moving away from the sharp feature. There is also a textured part added inside the sleeve for the same purpose. The bottom of the protector is a fine-weave thick nylon webbing, which is great because it is both low friction and very tough. It fits fine on my half rope which is a 7.3mm, so skinny ropes are no issue. The only thing I don't like is the small buckle on the inside. I don't really see how this is supposed to help secure the rope. I don't think it's necessary, and I plan on ignoring it. Overall, this is well thought-out. It is not a known brand, but it's non-life-supporting equipment, and I feel good enough to take it out with me. I recommend it.

I got this to put around my rope when climbing on roofs this stays in place and keeps my rope from abraiding on the edge of the roof where it falls to the ground. The material is very thick and strong, and the Velcro works fine for keeping it closed around the rope, the small orange tab on the inside, however was barely so on and ripped off immediately. I had to superglue it back on, but overall this works for.

Just to confirm, it is a wrap that can be installed on a line that is already in place. Full length velcro strips. And the anti-slide clip.

Decent edge and abrasion protection. I used to for 11mm rescue rope and it fit fine. Can use the loop to secure to an anchor keeping it from sliding out of place. You can also easily slide the rope through the protector. I am not sure why there is a third velcro strip running down the middle of the inside. It is not used to secure the wrap. Maybe it adds additional cushion/protection to the rope once wrapped and velcro secured. Deduct one star- The advertising photos are ridiculous. All photo-shop'd and a couple of the photos the protector would not even be used. Makes me question if the company understands the product they are manufacturing. But it did come with a nice plastic case that will come in handy in my fishing tackle box!
