It works as advertised.

I had to use a voltmeter to figure out what the existing wiring did as the old unit had a few more wires that were not needed. We have had snow and freezing temperatures here in Texas recently and this box works flawlessly. Great purchase in my opinion.

Easy to program, and used to turn pool pump on and off, and for pump to come on when a freeze is possible.

The install is about as simple as it gets if you are replacing another Intermatic timer. Slips right into the enclosure and locks in securely (was a bit concerned since mine was nearly 20 years old, but fit perfectly). Wiring was simple, though it would have been nice if properly sized wire nuts were included since not everyone is like me and has a box full of screws and wire nuts that I've accumulated over 30 years of DIY projects. Rated it 4 rather than 5 because the timer dial and on/off pins are plastic and I'm concerned about their longevity. I got this for the thermometer so I don't have to shut the pool down for the winter, and the 20 year old timer with metal parts was in perfect working order, very unlikely this one will last 20 years.

My husband swapped out our old timer for this one. Easy peasy. No case included.
