Rarely does anything work so easy. Drill a 7/8-in hole use a 1 1/8' socket to grip the fitting. Put drill on high speed pull the trigger full, push in and hold until the plastic melts. 15 or 20 sec. Wear glasses so you don't get plastic in your eyes

I bought this product to create a lower fresh water drain location. I also bought 3 more to practice with on an old black tank before I installed this on my fresh tank. As someone mentioned, I used a 1 1/8" socket and my three stage Dewalt drill on the fastest setting. I Used a hole saw bit to drill the hole and spun it in with the socket. It was easier than I thought it'd be, just a little nerve racking because I didn't want to ruin my tank. Good product.

Worked as advertised. Had to do a DIY repair on a freshwater tank with a snapped off fitting (I didn't break it off, it was received by me broken). Drilled out the old fitting using a stepped drill bit. Then used a 1 1/8" socket mounted on my high torque drill. Knew to stop after it started to seize up for a few seconds (plastic had melted enough to create significant friction). Waited a dozen seconds for it to cool and bond. Tested with water a few minutes later. Sealed tight to the fresh water tank.
