It does everything it is supposed to do and has been found to be very accurate. HOWEVER - the black cover that fits over the battery compartment has become very 34;gummy34; and sticky. It actually makes my skin black where I come in contact with the cover. It is very tacky, kind of like a post it page adhesive. There is apparently no cure for the condition. I've tried just about everything. Very unusual!

Usually works great, sometimes 34;takes a nummy34; and reads really low while still saying 34;F34;. Cats love the laser, of course! I use it to make sure the horses' and barn cats' heated water containers are working, to check for cold and warm spots in my house, and to find out what the electric cooktop considers 34;hot surface34; (above 140 F)... lots of things like those.

Love this thing. Can be used for so many things. From finding drafty spots in house to checking if food is done. Great for stuff like large chicken or turkey breasts. Before eating I cut into them then use this to check temp. Works great.

works very well! still pretty reliable and precise at several meters distance my only complaint: installing the battery is a bit annoying, and i dont get why it doesnt have a built in rechargable battery... i mean come on, its the 21st century... this old D type battery feels ancient, havent used one of those in years. but hey, its no issue, the battery is probably gonna last for a year or more
