Mission: The mission of the Greater Chicago Cage Bird Society is to care for homeless exotic cage birds through the GCCBS Rescue and Adoption Center and to share knowledge of exotic cage birds through open meetings and other educational events.
Results: In 2019 we adopted 98 birds. We accepted 101 relinquished and abandoned birds. Currently 120+ birds are within the shelter. In 2021 we adopted 112 birds. We accepted 123 birds relinquished, found outside or through animal control
Target demographics: Unwanted and abused exotic birds
Direct beneficiaries per year: 210 birds between shelter, adoption and relinquish.

Programs: Vet care monthly or sooner if bird shows sign of illness. Balanced diet of pellets, seeds, fruits and veggies, Safe environment including daily cleaning. Social interaction with other birds and human play time.
