Mission: MATHCOUNTS provides engaging math programs for US middle school students of all ability levels to build confidence and improve attitudes about math and problem solving.

Target demographics: students in grades 6-8 and their teachers

Geographic areas served: all 50 US states, plus territories and overseas schools affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense and State Dept.

Programs: The National Math Club, MATHCOUNTS Competition Series and Math Video Challenge, plus numerous free, high-quality resources for math educators and students. (1) We cultivate talent in the nation's brightest young minds through the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series. We bring together students from all 50 states in a series of in-person contests in 500 chapters nationwide--the only competition program of its kind. (2) We inspire curiosity and build confidence in students of all levels through the National Math Club. We help create a space where learning math is fun, social and supportive, so that every student becomes a lifelong math learner. (3) We inspire creativity in students through project-based learning with the Math Video Challenge. We enable students to connect and apply math to their own lives by producing their own math videos, and teach others in the process.
