Godinger 42307 Lumina Cereal Bowl, Set of 4

Got these to replace the ones I broke over time

I bought this set of bowls, as I only needed one, but who can find one pretty bowl? I wanted a pretty bowl for the top of my new walk-in tub, which has an elongated front deck where I was keeping a number of messy bottles and soap, etc. I found a nice white container for the bottles and needed another container to hold the wet hair catcher that I pick up after the tub has drained. I measured the hair strainer and the space available on my tub deck and knew I needed a 6 bowl to place the wet strainer in, crystal would be pretty next to my candle which has a Godinger tray under it, and I found these bowls. I thought they would look like ordinary glass, but they are much prettier than I expected: silvery and clear like crystal and I remembered the beaded pattern from my childhood eons ago. We had glasses like that in the 50s in our home. (1950s, not 1850s). This bowl was the perfect fit and looks pretty on my new tub with the shiny silver hair strainer inside. I'm using the other 3 bowls for cereal and ordering the salad plates which I think will fit under the bowls?

These are really pretty bowls and exactly the size I wanted. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is that they are hard to pull apart when stacked on top of each other. The glass beading (not sure if that's the proper term) on the outside of the bowls stick together.

The bowls are beautiful! When I opened the box, I wanted to order another. The downsides, albeit tolerable, are: 1) They don't stack well; they get a little stuck. 2) they must be hand washed. Now, the latter would not be such a problem if my husband didn't forget and put them in the dishwasher anyway.

I loved them so much I bought the whole set. Super sturdy and beautiful.
