I purchased this speaker for several reasons: 1) I needed a bass speaker that could with stand at least 500 watts of power that my amp produced. This speaker is rated at 600 watts of RMS power - 1200 watts peak power. 2) It has an aluminum voice coil that can dissipate the heat that the amplifier creates. My Fender Rumble 500 runs in a bridged mode. The original 1534; probably was using a copper voice coil. That made the amp run 'HOT'. The eternal bus fan was running from the beginning. Now - the amp runs cool. If you want a good 4 ohm speaker - this is the one to get!
