My review is pretty subjective, as I have very little experience with automotive painting and the associated equipment. Hell, that's why I bought this item; it seemed to have a respectable amount of desireable features for a relatively inexpensive cost. I used both guns to paint/clearcoat a new front bumper cover for my Audi S4 and they worked as advertised. I had no problems, as other reviewers have, with the supplied regulator and I found the spray fan and coverage adjustments worked fine. If I were to improve anything, it would be to replace the plastic cup lids with something more stout (aluminum?) and have them screw or latch to the cup instead of just press on. Will my paint job win any beauty contests? Probably not. However, I can't blame the guns.....it's the operator's technique that was suspect. :)

First time sprayer here. I watched tons of youtube videos before i started anything. The one channel that helped me most was 'the gunman.' Since owning this gun, I have upgraded to the Tekna prolite. It doesn't spray as well to the trained eye, but it can still put out glass like finishes if you have the settings dialed in. I wouldn't recommend any air compressor below 9cfm at 40psi. I had to upgrade mines to a 60 gallon which can do 14cfm at 40psi and the gun came to life after giving it more air. The sprays were more consistent and results are still stunningly beautiful. at 65-75 degrees, on the big gun; i have fan knob open all the way, and fluid knob open 3.5 turns out, at 30psi. Having a good prep and testing on test panel helps a lot before you start spraying your project. If you're unsure just watch 'the gunman' a million times and eventually it'll sink in as it did to me. This is a great gun for the price. Good luck!

these guns are pieces of crap. Ive been spraying hvlp for along time so i thought i would splurge and by a nice set for once. The first time i used the big gun the trigger broke on me and I lost the clamp that keeps it together. I should have returned it at that moment but i thought ok its a fluke. I rigged it to work within a week the cup started leaking and it leaked black on on the table i was spraying so i had to let it dry and sand it all sand again. my husky guns lasted 10 times longer than these. I thought because they were Devilbiss they would be ok guns but truly they ended up being by far the worst guns Ive ever had. Im returning them immediatly before i get stuck with them. DONT BUY THESE GUNS if your going to use them often. Find somthing else. My harbor frieght guns lasted longer than these..

Product arrived assembled with mismatched parts that didn't fit each other, wrong thread sizes. Included wrench is so loose on the bolts that it's useless.

Does a pretty good job with base-coat/clear-coat solvent-based urethane. Had some problems with banding using silver-metallic base-coat paint. Maybe just have to use it more to get used to it and dial it in better........

NOTE - IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The little white nylon needle-packing ring fell out when I was cleaning the full-size gun and I couldn't tell from ANY DeVilbiss documentation which way it was supposed to go back into the gun. One end is flat, the other end is convex. I finally determined that the flat-end goes INTO the gun with the convex end facing the packing nut. Get it backwards and the packing will either leak all over your trigger-fingers, or the needle will stick and paint will dribble out the tip, making a real mess!! (depending how tight you tighten the nut) Hope this helps someone out! (See the attached drawing for clarification)

The other attached photos show the kind of results you can achieve with the full-size gun. The SUV fenders were finish-sanded and buffed, but the hood is as-sprayed. The Firebird trunk deck was finish-sanded and buffed.
