Very heavy great for athletic competition grade.

While the paint on the shot chips off and rubs off too, it doesn't get on your skin enough to be noticeable. 6 puts later, there is no rubbing off on hands at all. 2 practices later, the shot is still mostly blue, and any chips or rubbing off of the paint have not gotten on my hand, or interfered with my putting. If you have an issue with the blue paint, do not buy this. Alternatives are much more expensive and this one has an unbeatable price for such a small flaw. I threw the shot in multiple conditions: dirt, tracks, wet grass, and it is still functional. It works, so I can't complain too much. The blue will rub of on your hand for quite a while but otherwise it's your basic shot put. I've not had it weighed in yet but seems to be correct.

This is a good value for a heavier collegiate/Olympic shot. The blue paint does slowly chip away, especially if the shot rolls into or bumps into other shots or hard objects. But overall very happy with the purchase.

I really liked the color (especially since our school colors are blue and gold). However, the paint does scratch easily. Overall, nice product, decent price.

Cheapest shot around, but the 16lb I ordered weighs in at 15.8lb. Fine for casual use
