Do yourself a favor and use a thumbtack or a nail to poke some holes in the deck where you want the screws to go. If you don't do this I'm convinced it's near impossible to install these, at least with the included tool. I had to resort to a Tech Deck Pro tool to help getting these on. These are real metal and you can't beat the look. The shapes aren't perfect, even when tightened all the way down you can see small gaps between the rails and the board. It's not really an issue though, provided you've driven these in enough to not be rattling around. They're kinda heavy, which I'm not crazy about, but it's what I wanted for this setup. If you don't like a heavier setup you should avoid these completely and go for plastic rails. They seem a little expensive for what they are but when it comes to durability so far so good.

My biggest complaint about these rails was that it's hard to eyeball where they should go. My mistake was trying to poke spots for the first screw without the rail in position, so mine didn't end up where I wanted them. I like the rails themselves and the screws were fairly easy to put in. I may try again on a different board.
