Soon as I laced these bad boys up, I just felt like running. So, I did and I kept running. These shoes make you feel like running on a cloud or surfing on your side chics water bed. If I could give em 10 stars I would but id be mad I couldn't do 11.

I use the shoes for walking, it's my second pair so clearly I like the performance of them. My only drawback comment and why I gave it three stars is for this price I would have expected the shoes to being good shape for longer than four or five months. At the 6-month mark they were showing visible wear in the shoe itself (upper), the tread was normal wear but the shoe just started giving out. The second pair that it's happened to. I typically walk about 12 to 15 miles a week. So perhaps 250 to 300 Mi over that length of time. The average should be 350 to 500 miles.

I bought these because I have been a long time fan of New Balance, and had to have "standard" (not minimalist) shoes for military training. Overall, the construction, durability and fit are good. The soles are quite soft, to the point it feels like running in sand, so if you're in need of that level of shock absorption these will be great for you. The only real downside outside of my preference for minimalist shoes is that there is a cavity on the heel of the shoe, and when the soles are wet, or I'm walking on smooth tile floors, they act like suction cups and make popping noises and have a noticeable resistance to pull up.
