To speak of the most important organization in boxing, the World Boxing Council, is to go back in history. From Egyptian boxers and Grecian fist-fighting to the Broughton Rules and the history of Mexican fighters, the WBC was created on February 14, 1963, by the President of Mexico to manage the unification of all world committees to regulate the sport we call boxing. The WBC is an organization that has and continues to work tirelessly to transform boxing and protect the safety, health, and respect of every boxer who steps into a ring.
