Poor design and/or brittle plastic. I have used this kit many times to rebuild my Polaris 280. Easy enough but this little plastic piece is a crucial component, cannot be ordered separately, and no way of asking the manufacturer / supplier to replace.

Was not sure about this product. Saw some negative reviews on using it and results.Turns out those comments/reviews were wrong in my case. Took my time, actually followed the instructions,and figured out where to make changes when I made a mistake.Result = works geat and probably extends the life of the sweeper for a few years. Lot's better than a $600 or so replacement.

I have rebuilt our Polaris several times since it was new, around 16 years ago. Easy to do, and much less expensive than replacing the cleaner.

Relatively easy to disassemble and reassemble. Good instructions. Still also used a YouTube video to help but not necessarily needed. Makes my Polaris 280 work like new!

I have bought cheaper kits before and regretted it. This works well. It's just a shame it basically only comes with wheels while the other kits come with tails and floats and everything.

This is expensive, but the parts are OEM and everything fits amp; works perfectly so you're getting a rebuilt machine that works like new. It's a little fiddly figuring out what wheels go where, but they only fit one way once you look things over. One issue is the threaded brass plates in the housing which are softer than steel, so should be tightened carefully to avoid stripping. Great product and great result, so I recommend this.

This overhaul kit made my Polaris pool cleaner almost like new. The only part that SHOULD have been included was a threaded nut plate for the wheel that moves to engage the idler wheel. I had to fabricate a replacement nut plate. Fortunately I have the necessary tools to do that. Some pool users might not.

My Polaris sweep was sluggish and was always getting caught up so I decided to order this kit. I thought it was a little pricey but now that I see how my sweep is performing it was well worth the money. It was very easy to install and my sweep is all over the pool. It’s climbing the sides which it didn’t do before.
