I own a property with lots of salmonberry and blackberry bushes -- in other words, lots of thorns -- and every time I go there to wack these with a machete I get poked and start bleeding. I am in my 70's and my skin has gotten very thin and prone to bleeding when even slightly pricked or rubbed slightly hard against a somewhat pointy object. My arms are a mess -- it's very frustrating. So I bought the Zenport AG4020 Protective Armwear and last week used it for 5 days in a row on the property and wow -- zero pokes or gashes by thorns or sharp branches! As noted by many others, the snaps don't really work, which was initially annoying, but I found that the sleeves stay above my elbow when I put them on over my work shirt. I was concerned the sleeves might be hot or stiff and awkward, but I did not have any problem wearing these on a hot day and for several hours. These sleeves are not sexy looking but they do the job of protecting my arms. I can highly recommend.

I purchased these sleeves to protect my forearms while pruning a Bougainville AKA 'pretty razor wire' bush. While two of the half inch thorns poked me directly through the canvas material I did not get scraped up as I otherwise would have. My only complaint is that the sleeves are the same diameter from the wrist to the upper arm so, as my biceps while hardly massive are still larger than my wrists, I could not use the snaps at the proximal end. In spite of this the sleeves stayed in position through the entire job. Well worth the money.

As I said, these worked really well for picking blackberries. They are hot, but absolutely no bleeding!!! Yup, I'd buy 'em again!

This was a gift to my brother that does blackberry picking and plays with a puppy that is still learning to not jump up. He absolutely loves the sleeves. They do great when blackberry picking but even better when playing with his grand puppy. He no longer has the scratches across his arm. Would highly recommend especially for someone that is older and has thinner skin on their arms.
